Hello! Nice to meet you! I’m broke and planning a wedding!
My fiance and I met about two years ago. We are so excited to get married, but weddings cost SO much money. We had originally planned on getting married in 2014, but life has a way of switching up plans, so we have now moved the wedding date up to August 24th 2013! That means the budget is tighter than ever! I still refuse to go into debt for the wedding of my dreams. This is not the time to be in debt, especially when you are young and still paying off college loans. We amended our budget and are really concentrating on making a lot of things ourselves.
I started this blog because I was sure there were other brides out there just like me, taking the time to pinch the pennies to make the wedding they truly want. I wanted to share my experience as I go along, showing all the things I’m making, as well as the decision-making process.
Our wedding will ultimately be a very intimate gathering with a rustic and literature theme. My fiance and I love to read and talk about the things we’ve read together and so I really wanted to incorporate that. We also really want a barn wedding to complete the rustic vision I am making all my own flowers, and creating all my own centerpieces, as well as all the other decorations.
I hope that by reading my posts and joining me on this wedding planning journey, you will get some ideas for your own special day, and be encouraged to slowly plan a wedding so that debt won’t burden you in your new life together.
