A Beachy Bride’s Budget Tips!

Today I get the extreme pleasure of sharing Morgan and Adrian’s wedding! They did a really great job of splurging on the things that were important to them, and really saving a lot of money on everything else! With a beach-themed Florida wedding, it’s not easy to save, but they did a really good job of making it all work for them.
Here is a Budget Breakdown (always a great idea to do once you have all your vendors in order so you know what you are spending):
$6,000 for the food and location
$300 for the dress and the veil
$800 for the DJ
$100 for the pastor
$2500 for the videography
$3000 for the photography
$200 for the cake
$800 for the flowers
Hair was $60 for each time I had it done; I did a test run and a ‘for real’ so it came out to $120 total plus tips.
Nails were $100 ($50 for my toes $50 for my fingers)
The invitations I got on a super discount at Hobby Lobby; which ended up being 24 cents a piece plus postage.
The save-the-dates we got online for about 48 cents a piece on sale.
What did you splurged on?
We really splurged on the photos, that was most important to us.
Where did you save money?
I got my dress and David’s Bridal during their huge semi-annual sale; what a deal!
The cake we got a Publix grocery store, it was gorgeous and so inexpensive; much less than having another bakery do it. No one even knew it was from Publix.
If you could, what would you do differently?
I was not impressed with the videographer. We also never wanted to spend that much on food, but there was a miscommunication.
Do you have any advice for brides planning their wedding?
Just take a deep breath, I know everything feels like a big deal, but pick a few things that are really important to you and don’t worry about the rest. Have family members or bridesmaids you really depend on help you…don’t try to do it all yourself.
The day really turned out beautifully for them! I love her dress! What a beauty for such a steal! When you go looking for your dress, make sure you look for sales where you can! The perfect dress doesn’t have to be half your budget! I, being a dessert girl, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that cake! Who knew it was from a grocery store! There are so many great ways to save, I am continually amazed by how brides pull beautiful weddings like this off! Congratulations Morgan and Adrian!
